Scale UP, curated by Berlin-based 1UP crew in collaboration with Polaroid, offers an environment of cooperation, synthesis, community, and exchange where unique art pieces are being created on the spot. Ten renowned artists have been invited to participate and have their Polaroid portraits taken by Martha Cooper and Nika Kramer. The collaborating artists: 2Alas, Boo Johnson, Eneri, Futura, Mark Gonzales, Maya Hayuk, Reds, Revok, Vhils, and the 1UP crew during public painting sessions turned their enlarged Polaroid portraits into graffiti artworks in their own, unique signature style, merging two artistic mediums that resist the quest for perfection. These mediums are both loved by artists and ignite continual experimentation.
